Saturday is named for the god Saturn, and is ruled by the planet of the same name. Saturn is the Roman god of agriculture and therefore, was also closely related to the changing of the seasons.
Agriculture is not an activity that happens swiftly. It takes time and perseverance to yield results. Saturn’s energy is likewise slow, but also tenacious, and lends itself well to long term projects like agriculture, building, real-estate ventures, etc. If you are looking to plant a garden, literally or figuratively, Saturday is a perfect day to sow the seeds!
Saturday can also be a great day to start the process of letting go of bad habits or practices that no longer serve you. These activities can also require long periods of time, and definitely require lots of tenacity and perseverance. Start the process of letting these things go on a Saturday, letting the energy of Saturn bolster your determination and perseverance, thereby increasing your chances of success.
The color for Saturday is black, often associated with protection. Maybe you are heading out of town and are feeling apprehensive. Take some time out on the Saturday before your departure to focus on having safe travel to and from your destination, and petition for safety while you are away from home.
We infuse each of our Saturday day of the week candles with all of these aspects. Our candles are dipped or molded with black wax to represent the color of the day and its ruling planet of Saturn. To the tealights, we add the alchemical symbol for Saturn to the top of the candle for an extra boost.
Lighting one of our Saturday day of the week candles can help bring this energy to bear for you. Add one to your altar on Saturday as a petition. Light one to help you to focus on the energy of the day. Use one to add an extra boost when performing your magickal works on Saturday.
You can find Saturday taper candle pairs, and our Day of the Week tealight sets (including one tealight for each day of the week) in our shop on our website www.magickalcandlez.com.
