Our Imbolc Sabbat Taper Set is a perfect addition to your celebration of Imbolc. The set contains a pair of 6″ hand-dipped taper candles, in colors to represent the God, and the Goddess energies of this Sabbat.
Imbolc is a celebration of the coming Spring. We have emerged from the darkest time of the year and begin looking forward to longer days! Many traditions see this Sabbat as a time to perform cleaning and purification. A wonderful time to do some spring-cleaning! Others may see this sabbat as a prediction of the remainder of the winter. The hag of winter is gathering wood for the remainder of the winter. If the weather is nice, she is able to gather much wood, meaning a longer winter. However, if the weather is stormy, she gathers less, meaning a shorter winter. No doubt, this tradition led to the modern day celebration of Groundhog Day.
We choose to craft our candle representing the God energies of this Sabbat with red wax since it represents the warmth of the hearth keeping us safe through the remainder of the winter. The spark of new life that will bring the spring.
Because the color of white reminds us of the need for cleansing, purification, and letting go of what no longer serves us, we dip our Goddess candle for this Sabbat set in white wax. Also, it is the color of the Maiden Goddess, and her impending return from the underworld.
Together our candles honor fire and ice. The warmth of the hearth and the remaining cold of winter. The purity of the Maiden’s return, and the spark of the renewal of life.
Use our Imbolc Sabbat Taper Set during the days leading up to and following Imbolc. Celebrate new life, purification, and the promise of renewal with the coming spring!
If you prefer, we also offer a God and Goddess taper set, dipped in traditional colors of white to represent the Goddess and gold to represent the God. We also offer our God and Goddess candles as tea lights.
